Caribe Atómico Film Festival is a festival that celebrates Caribbean and Latin American cinema. The first edition was celebrated on December 2023 and you can read about it here.
Call for applications
The second edition of Caribe Atómico will take place in Caracas from December 1st to 8th, 2024.
From now until September 10th we will be receiving short film submissions for the categories: Fiction, Animation and Documentary.
Please read the contest rules carefully before participating:
-We have three short film competitions open: Venezuelan short films and Caribbean and Latin American short films. In each category, works are accepted in the following categories: Fiction, Animation and Documentary.
-All short films produced in any of the countries of Latin America and/or the Caribbean are eligible to participate.
-If the production is from other countries, the director must be a national of any Latin American and/or Caribbean country.
-All themes are accepted.
-There is no minimum age to participate.
-The maximum length for Venezuelan Short Films and Caribbean and Latin American Short Films is 30 minutes (including credits).
-The maximum duration for the short films Students from Venezuela is 10 minutes.
-For the sections Venezuelan Short Films and Caribbean and Latin American Short Films, all short films produced from January 1, 2023 onwards are eligible to participate.
-All formats are accepted.
-There are no limitations on the number of short films a director can submit but each entry must be made individually.
–CAFF does not require a premiere: the short films may be published on the Internet or may compete or have competed in other film festivals in Venezuela or around the world.

-For Venezuelans, there is no registration fee.
For non-Venezuelans, the registration fee is $5.00.
-The festival will award one prize: A trophy and a full scholarship to the Kino Guarimba film residency in Southern Italy.
